This is extremely common when you have grown up without safe emotional expression.
This doesn’t mean your parents were bad. But they couldn’t regulate their own emotions well enough to be truly expressive and be able to hold space for your emotions without getting triggered by them.
We only heal anxiety by learning to self soothe, love and accept ourselves.
This only starts by listening to your body and your feelings. Which is hard when feeling anxious.
That’s why the goal is always SAFETY. Through regulating the nervous system with breathwork or somatic touch.
